What’s In A Name?
People often ask me where my stage name comes from, but I’ve only told the story to a select few. It’s not some world shattering secret, but it is incredibly personal to me.
If you hadn’t guessed from the photo above, I love World of Warcraft. I’ve been playing since Burning Crusade, fiercely loyal to my server though I’ve seen guilds come and go over the intervening years. Prior to Wrath of the Lich King, my main was a Blood Elf Paladin. Something about Wrath’s sweeping environments and the Death Knight narrative took hold of me though, and I’ve been maining my Blood Elf DK ever since. Her name? Ellamourne, shamelessly derived from Frostmourne.
When I started my journey in adult entertainment in 2016 by making my burlesque debut, it seemed natural to use Ellamourne given all the years I’d been identified by that name online. And here we are, three and a half years later, in a world where I’ll more readily respond to my stage name than my given name. There is power in choosing a name, and I’m glad I’ve stuck with this one.
